Ellis was all snuggled and cozy during his swaddled newborn session. These short and sweet sessions feature only wrapped poses, mostly in props or on soft blankets. His mama requested neutral colors, so we incorporated lots of brown, gray, and cream tones. Ellis was such a little sweetheart and at the end of the session, he woke up and stared right into my soul ❤️
Niko | Wilmington Cake Smash Photographer
Niko’s mom requested a cowboy setup for his first birthday cake smash session and it turned out to be so adorable! As with all my cake smashes, we got a few shots before the cake. The added details like the fake mustache and cowboy hat just made Niko even cuter and I didn’t think that was possible.
He wasn’t quite sure about asking smashing the cake, but he did take a few bites before deciding that he’d rather finger paint with the icing. This is one reason why I love cake smash session- all babies react a little differently and we just go with the flow!
I’m so glad I could help celebrate this sweet boy and his first year ❤️
S. Family | Bald Head Island Photographer
I met this lovely family during their vacation on Bald Head Island. We took some shots near the dunes with Old Baldy in the background, as well as some photos in front of the water. The S. family consists of grandparents, their two adult children, and their kids (five total grandchildren). I was honored to provide them with a fun, laid back session and updated family portraits.
I often reference this group when asked about clothing choices for beach sessions. I absolutely love this color palette of greens, coral, and white/khaki. They also did such a great job coordinating their outfits without being completely matching!
Owen, 12 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer
This cutie is my nephew (who is now a full grown toddler) and I’m just now getting to blogging his newborn session! The first thing you’ll notice about Owen is his gorgeous head full of red hair! All 4 of my babies were pretty much bald until they were 2 years old, so I was OBSESSED with his hair! Also, he was Aunt Jen’s model for several days, so I got lots and lots of photos, of course.
For all of my clients, I love incorporating personal elements into their newborn sessions. Sometimes, that means using items like a handmade blanket or family heirloom. Other times, we add personal touches like Owen’s Ramses stuffy (my sister is a UNC alum) and his cute fishing setup (his dad and grandpa are avid fisherman).
I may be biased, but I do think Owen is one of the most adorable babies ever 🩵
S. Family | Oak Island Photographer
The S. family was such a sweet group to photograph! I met them during their vacation on Oak Island, which is my hometown, so it’s always so fun to have sessions there! Of course, the two beautiful daughters/granddaughters were the stars of the show and they were big fans of the beach. It had rained the entire day and then cleared up right before our session, so we got a gorgeous cotton candy sky as our backdrop.
Here are some of my favorites from my time with this precious family:
