M. Family | Wrightsville Beach Photographer

Extended family sessions are so incredibly special. This beautiful family was visiting Wrightsville Beach and decided it was time for updated photos. The family consists of grandparents, their three adult children, and their spouses/kids, totaling 15 people! All the grandchildren were born within 5 years, so the cousins had a great time together, playing and laughing (cousin photos are always some of my favorites!)

We met at Johnnie Mercer’s Pier on Wrightsville and got some shots near the pier, in front of the water, and at the gorgeous dunes.

W. Family | Oak Island Family Photographer

This beautiful family had TWO special occasions they were celebrating during their Oak Island vacation- a recent engagement and a pregnancy announcement! I’m always so honored to be chosen to document these sweet moments ❤️ After we captured some group shots of everyone together, I got some images of the gorgeous engaged couple and the parents-to-be. The W. family was so fun and excited, willing to try all my ideas and poses in the midst of the stunning sunset!

Extended family sessions are so special and I especially love the ones that occur on Oak Island (my hometown!). This sweet family came together for a beach vacation and they decided it was time for updated photos. As with all extended family sessions, we got shots of the whole group, each individual family, grandparents with grandchildren, cousins, etc.

Here are some of my favorites from this sweet session, including photos in front of the dunes and near some pretty tidal pools:

T. Family | Kure Beach Photographer

I had so much fun with this BIG family! The parents/grandparents have four adult children and seven grandchildren, so there was a lot of coordination involved! As a mom of four myself (ages 4-11), I love meeting extended families with four kids because it’s like catching a glimpse of what my future could be ❤️

I think the T. family did such a great job coordinating their outfits with blue and white as base colors, then adding in some pops of other colors, like green and coral. We got some shots of everyone together, as well as each individual family and grandparents with the kids.

E. Family | Oak Island Family Photographer

This extended family session was so much fun! I met the E. family while they were vacationing on Oak Island (my hometown ❤️). The family consisted of grandparents, their two adult children, and their families, including 4 grandchildren). I love beach sessions so much anyway, but there’s something even more special about extended families gathering together, especially when they might not all be in the same place very often.
