Extended family sessions are so special and I especially love the ones that occur on Oak Island (my hometown!). This sweet family came together for a beach vacation and they decided it was time for updated photos. As with all extended family sessions, we got shots of the whole group, each individual family, grandparents with grandchildren, cousins, etc.
Here are some of my favorites from this sweet session, including photos in front of the dunes and near some pretty tidal pools:
I met baby Carter when he was just a tiny newborn (check out his newborn session here!) and he’s just gotten even cuter! When his mom contacted me to schedule his first birthday session, I couldn’t believe that it had already been almost a whole year.
First, we got some simple shots of Carter and then we moved to his cake smash set, which was nautical themed. It was absolutely adorable, complete with anchor accents and a sailboat (for cake smashes, I provide the set up with your input/vision and then you bring baby, outfit(s), and the cake). He wasn’t so sure about the cake at first, but he eventually decided that it was the best 😍
One of the best perks of this job is getting to meet so many sweet families and watching the kids grow up through the years! This family is one of my favs and so kind, beautiful, and tons of fun. I look forward to our time together so much! This session took place at Fort Fisher, which is one of the best locations in our area. The trees and greenery are absolutely gorgeous and the perfect setting for updated family portraits 💚
Lifestyle newborn sessions are so incredibly special, just focusing on the parents and sweet, new baby. Jack’s mom and dad were obviously so in love with their little boy. His nautical themed nursery was absolutely adorable and perfect. We got some precious shots in the nursery and then moved to mom/dad’s bedroom. I’m completely obsessed with this session and the connection between the members of this beautiful family 💙
Tessa was such a tiny beauty! Her mama is a friend and it’s always such an honor to photograph families when you are well aware of the special gift they’ve received ❤ Tessa was born in December, so of course we had to do a few Christmas-themed set ups! She was a happy nugget and gave me some sweet smiles during her session, which is one of the best parts of this job.
