I first met McKinley’s parents last fall when I photographed their pregnancy announcement (see the end of this post for those images!). I loved getting updates from mom and learning about the progression of their miracle, rainbow baby until her birth in June! They live in an adorable farmhouse out in the country, so we incorporated vintage and rustic elements into McKinley’s session (I was in love with her entire nursery!).

One of the best aspects of being a newborn photographer is being able to hold and snuggle tiny babies and then…give them back to their parents after a few hours! As a mama of three, it does give me baby fever quite often, but usually those snuggles hold me over for awhile.
Enter Olivia Anne. My best friend’s baby. Essentially my very own baby to play with and then give back! I held her at just a few hours old (hospital fresh 48 images at the end of this post) and then photographed her twice during the newborn days. I’m not lying when I say I had been planning this sweetheart’s newborn session(s) for months. And she was everything I dreamed she’d be.

Kyler’s newborn session was special to me because his mama and I have been friends since elementary school! It was so nice catching up and meeting her newest little love (and he has a gorgeous big sister as well!). We incorporated lots of blues and neutrals while styling his session, which I think perfectly complimented his adorable, tiny features ❤️

This beautiful girl was wrapped, posed, and then snuggled by her proud big sister! We used soft pink, purple, and green, with pops of neutrals to style her portraits. The poses and props used accentuated her adorable features, like those perfectly chunky cheeks!
I love newborn portraits for lots of reasons, but one is because they really do change so quickly the first few months. I’m so glad this family, who I truly enjoyed hanging out with during our session, will have these images of sweet baby M. as she grows!

It’s that time of year again- the beach sessions have begun! I truly enjoyed every moment with this sweet family during our time together! Their little boy went to preschool with my oldest son. One year, six out of the eight moms in the preschool class were expecting babies (including the two of us!). Our daughters were born exactly one month apart and they both just turned two! As you can imagine, a beach session with two little ones is so fun because everything is exciting to them. We checked out the seashells and played in the sand in between shots (and Grandma even joined in!). I’m so glad we get to call this beautiful place home!
