I first met McKinley’s parents last fall when I photographed their pregnancy announcement (see the end of this post for those images!). I loved getting updates from mom and learning about the progression of their miracle, rainbow baby until her birth in June! They live in an adorable farmhouse out in the country, so we incorporated vintage and rustic elements into McKinley’s session (I was in love with her entire nursery!).
This beautiful girl was wrapped, posed, and then snuggled by her proud big sister! We used soft pink, purple, and green, with pops of neutrals to style her portraits. The poses and props used accentuated her adorable features, like those perfectly chunky cheeks!
I love newborn portraits for lots of reasons, but one is because they really do change so quickly the first few months. I’m so glad this family, who I truly enjoyed hanging out with during our session, will have these images of sweet baby M. as she grows!
I met this sweet boy’s family nearly two years ago when I photographed his big sister as a newborn. It was almost like deja vu because Bryce looks so similar to his sister, Sadie, and he was such a good baby. He slept like a dream, only waking up once or twice for a snack and he loved being wrapped up all nice and snug.
However, Bryce did open his eyes for a bit while we were taking some family shots. Big sister, like most 21 month olds, was not into having her picture taken, but we did get some adorable images of her checking out her new baby.
I LOVE being able to photograph families as they grow and welcome baby #2, #3, or more! Bryce’s mama has now become a friend and I’m so grateful for a job that allows me to meet such wonderful babies and families!
Baby Aubri was such an angel during her newborn session! Her mom wanted to incorporate all things girly, such as a color palette of pink and purple, as well as pearls. We even captured a few grins and adorable facial expressions while she was snuggled up in a bucket. We were able to safely include the family fur babies by taking several different shots and merging them together to create a precious final image. I have a feeling those pups will be by her side for a long time!
We also had such a wonderful time creating some very sweet family images in the nursery and bedroom. I can tell Aubri will be a Daddy’s girl by the bond they seemed to already share. Mom and Dad were completely enamored by their new baby girl and it was such an honor to be a small part of their early days!
Baby Graham was such a sweetheart during his newborn session! He slept wonderfully, which allowed me to capture some adorable poses. His mom requested greens for his portraits and I think the deep color was perfect for him and his seriously flawless skin/beautiful complexion!. I totally swooned over his nursery when mom sent me photos and it was just as gorgeous in person, which made a lovely backdrop for family portraits. I love the way you can sense so much emotion while looking at the images with Graham and his parents. Also, both of his grandmothers were present for his session, so we were able to grab a few images with several generations, which I think he'll always treasure!
