Aubrey’s newborn session was filled with soft, feminine colors, like purple and pink, and featured her gorgeous nursery. Her parents are both local veterinarians, so of course, a tiny, stuffed puppy made an appearance (I love incorporating these personal touches into sessions!). We also captured the new family of three snuggling and creating memories in Aubrey’s perfectly decorated nursery. I couldn’t be happier to have met this adorable family and shared a tiny part of their new beginning!
Alex, 13 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer
Alex was the rainbow after the storm, well many storms, for his parents. He was born after several heartbreaking losses, including a second trimester loss and just a few days later after that, the loss of his maternal grandfather. After all of that grief, Alex’s parents were so excited to learn that he was on his way and I believe he has brought so much love and light to their lives already.
Because he has Scottish roots, we incorporated plaids in his session. I’m in love with the little cap, but I also had to show his full head of hair (I just wanted to play with his hair the entire session!) We used lots of yellows, greens, and blues throughout his session. The nursery (with the beautiful mural designed by his mama) was the perfect backdrop to capture images of his gorgeous family!
I entered several of these images into an international newborn photography contest and I was so honored that one of them won second place! If I was a judge, I’d definitely fall in love with this precious little guy ❤
Morgan, 11 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer
This beautiful girl and her family were an absolute joy to photograph! Miss Morgan barely made a peep during her newborn session and her gorgeous features were complemented by the colors her mama chose to incorporate (feminine, soft colors like peach, pink, and cream). Everyone was so sweet, especially Morgan’s older brother, who was very excited to have a little sister. He kept me laughing with his silly personality and contagious smile!
Here are some of my favorites from our time together!
Dalton, 10 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer
When I met this little guy, I immediately knew that he was incredibly special to so many people. Dalton was born just shy of two years after his daddy passed away from brain cancer. His parents were already undergoing fertility treatments when the diagnosis came and his mama decided to continue to try to make their dreams of becoming parents a reality. He’s also a rainbow baby (a baby born after miscarriage), so his family went through a lot of heartbreak before he arrived.
I was also fortunate enough to meet several of his grandparents and you could just feel the love and hope that this new life is bringing into the lives of so many others. Dalton’s mama is such a sweetheart and I can’t imagine all that she’s been through during the last few years. I just know that I feel completely honored to have been able to capture this little miracle at just over one week old. We used lots of blue during his session and I do believe blue may be his color, but really, I think this cutie would be adorable in anything (just look at those cheeks!).
If you scroll through these images, you’ll find one of Dalton smiling with his daddy’s watch ❤
Declan, 21 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer
Declan was the snuggliest little bear at 3 weeks old! His parents requested neutrals, blue tones, and a bit of a nautical feel. He was the happiest while all wrapped up, but he also enjoyed snoozing in a bucket for awhile. At the beginning of our session, we photographed some family moments of mom and dad with their sweet boy. Declan’s animal-themed nursery was absolutely gorgeous (I have to say, I think the toddler-sized giraffe will be a favorite of Declan’s in a couple of years). The family’s curious fur baby found himself in the middle of a few shots, which turned out to be perfect!
