Oh, Viviana. Such an absolutely gorgeous baby! I mean, she has cheeks for days!

Mom requested “all things girly” for her session, so I brought all the bows, lace, and pink. The pinks contrasted with some white/neutrals gave a classic, feminine vibe. We also incorporated some personal touches, such as mom and dad’s wedding rings on her tiny toes (one of my favorite types of shots!). And then of course, we finished up doing some lifestyle family photos in her nursery. I know those early days can be a blur when a few years (or even just months) have gone by, so I’m glad I can help preserve some of the memories of when two became three.

B. Family | Oak Island Photographer

I love meeting so many families vacationing at our local beaches! This session was at my hometown- Oak Island! The family included an adorable little one year old, his parents, and grandparents. I’m in love with mom’s gorgeous green dress and baby C’s adorable pumpkin outfit!

Parents can sometimes be a little worried about how babies will react to a photo session, which is why I try to take a relaxed approach. Some babies are not a fan of the sand or the loud waves or can become overstimulated quickly. I take the little ones’ lead and they usually warm up after a few minutes. The unplanned, candid photos can be some of the best. We got some sweet faces and fun shots with this little guy!

Taron, 12 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer

Taron was one of THE cutest babies ever! He had the most perfect little features (just look at that button nose and sweet cheeks!) and he gave me such amazing facial expressions, like big yawns and precious eye contact.

Taron wasn’t super into sleeping, which a lot of moms worry about for their newborn session. The vast majority of babies will fall asleep, even if they fight it at the beginning. And if baby is awake, but chill and cooperative, like Taron, it makes for some amazing photos. I’ve got white noise, a space heater, swaddles, and years of experience getting newborns to sleep. Most of them fall asleep within a few minutes, so please don’t stress!

Jessica | Wilmington NC Maternity Photographer

Look at this gorgeous mama! Jessica traveled a few hours to do her maternity session at Carolina Beach. This is one of my favorite locations because of the variety we can get with the pier, rocks, and beautiful ocean.

I adore maternity sessions, but add a beach, and it’s perfection! Jessica was absolutely breathtaking. She warned me that she could be “awkward in front of the camera” but I’m sure you can agree that she rocked her session. It’s super common to feel intimidated/uncomfortable during photos and like you aren’t sure how to pose, especially when pregnant, but I’ve got you!

Dawson, 13 days new | Wilmington NC Newborn Photographer

Dawson’s mama is a good friend of mine and fellow photographer (check her out here!). It’s always an honor to photograph her family and I was so excited to meet this sweet boy. Dawson had the most gorgeous head of blonde hair and big, round cheeks. Blue and white/cream was our color palette and I definitely think those are his colors!

We also shot some family images including Dawson’s proud big brother. As a mom, I know how much those photos mean, as you’ve been envisioning the sibling relationship for months. Going from one to two kids is A LOT, but the way big bro kissed baby’s head so gently was the sweetest thing ever!
