This sweet family contacted me to take some updated family portraits to celebrate their daughter’s recent first birthday on their trip to Ocean Isle Beach! Little McKinley was absolutely obsessed with the beach. She loved the sand and splashing through the water. We got some great shots in the beautiful dunes as well as some candids of McKinley, her parents, and grandparents playing near the ocean. I dare you to look at her adorable face and not smile!
Parker, 13 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer
This little guy was perfectly cozy during his swaddled newborn session. Parker’s mama wanted blues, greens, and neutrals and we were able to fit so much in! Parker was wrapped and swaddled in two bowls, two baskets, and two fluffy flokati rugs, creating so much variety in a relatively short time (swaddled sessions take about 60-90 minutes while full sessions last about 2.5-3 hours).
Here are some of my faves from my time with Parker:
Harbor, 8 days new | Wilmington NC Newborn Photographer
Harbor was such a sweetheart during her classic newborn session! Classic newborn sessions feature several “blanket poses” (unwrapped in outfits), as well as swaddled poses in props, and lifestyle family photos.
Harbor had cheeks for days and the most perfect little button nose. We used soft, feminine colors, as well as lots of florals. At the end of her session, we took some family shots with her mom, dad, and doggy sibling, who seemed super proud of the new addition!
Layla | Wilmington Cake Smash Photographer
Layla was ALL about smashing her cake to celebrate turning one! Some babies are delicate while eating their cake, but others, like Layla, just go for it. She truly enjoyed herself and by the end of the session, there were just a few handfuls of cake leftover 😂
Her mama requested feminine aspects, such as white, cream, and pinks, as well as florals. Before the actual smashing of the cake, we took some quick portraits of the birthday girl. She is quite the beauty!
Hudson, 10 days new | Wilmington Newborn Photographer
Hudson was allll cheeks 😍 His parents chose a swaddled newborn option, so he was warmly wrapped during his entire session. These sessions are typically quick as baby stays swaddled throughout several sets/props. I think I maybe saw Hudson’s eyes open once (and after a snack, he was snoozing again). We incorporated a few personal/sentimental items, such as tiny cowboy boots and hat, which is always so special!
