I've had such a great time capturing extended families this summer. Many times, they told me that they all live states apart and only get together a few times a year. This is true for the L. family, who I met on Ocean Isle Beach. They even brought along the great grandmother (who was so proud of her little great granddaughters!). You can just feel the love in these images and I'm so glad I was able to provide updated portraits for this growing family.

L. Family | Oak Island NC Family Photographer

I met this family in July while they were visiting Oak Island on vacation. Their almost one year old, Jax, was such a sweetheart! He loved the water and would have happily splashed all day. We enjoyed interacting with him around as he took careful steps through the sand. Jax also had the most beautiful blue eyes that perfectly complimented the clear skies that day (and the family's outfit choices!).

Corbett is ONE! | Wilmington NC Child Photographer

It feels like just yesterday I met this little cutie when he was only 2 weeks old! Corbett is seriously such a doll. Those big eyes and that adorable smile get me every time! We had such a blast during his one year milestone session, along with his sweet mama and grandma. I especially loved how excited he was to play in his little red wagon. He has such a big personality and I can't wait to watch him grow into toddlerhood!

B. Family | Oak Island NC Family Photographer

This extended family session on Oak Island was so much fun with five littles running around! Grandparents and the families of their two children made up this group. Their coordinated white clothing contrasted beautifully against the blue skies and ocean that day. It was hot (SO hot!), but we stuck it out for some gorgeous images. It was wonderful meeting this sweet family during their vacation!

B. Family | Ocean Isle Beach NC Family Photographer

One of my favorite parts of summer is meeting all of these wonderful families who vacation at the beach. Most of the time, they have their entire extended family and it's so much fun! The B. Family was an absolute blast! Mr. and Mrs. B have several children and LOTS of grandchildren (including one on the way)! They all were so precious and I'm glad I was able to be a part of their time together.

It rained earlier in the day and was still cloudy that evening, but that's actually the best for photos! There was nice, even light and cotton candy skies to create a gorgeous backdrop for this sweet family.
