Brinley 6 months + Family Session

I'm excited to share some of my favorite images from this family's session. Little Brinley was 6 months old, which is one of my absolute favorite ages to photograph, and her mama wanted a session to document this time. While we were out, we also took some family photos. This sweet girl is an absolute doll and her mama is a precious friend of mine. I'm so glad they trusted me to capture their family this year!

Capri- One Year Old Session

Capri is truly a special little girl and she has led an amazing journey in her short life. She was born very premature at 24 weeks gestation and spent several months in the NICU. Her twin brother, Asher, was born the week before and sadly, became an angel after a few days of fighting. I met their mama, Alissa, in a small group from church a couple of years ago. When I heard what was happening, I was overwhelmed with so many emotions. I followed this sweet family's journey through Facebook, hoping and praying along with them, and was elated when Capri was able to come home. 

When Alissa asked me to do Capri's one year photos, I was so excited. I couldn't wait to capture this beautiful girl and help celebrate everything she had overcome. She grew from a tiny one pound baby to a spunky little toddler with minimal health issues, despite going through so much as a micro-preemie. In some of these images, you will see a stuffed elephant. This elephant was Asher's and is a reminder that Capri will always have a guardian angel with her. I'll admit, my own mama heart was touched during this session because I could only imagine how these parents were feeling a year ago at that moment.

These photos were taken in her grandparent's backyard (so beautiful!). After an outfit change, we also took a few family shots with Capri and her parents. They are such a fun and genuine family and I'm so, so grateful that their sweet girl is happy and healthy!

Newborn Model Call!

Are you a pregnant mama due soon and would like a FREE newborn session?! I'm looking for 1-2 babies who will be 7-14 days old in February. This includes 2-3 hours of shooting and 5 edited digital images with the option to purchase more. Kyle and McKenzie- Sibling Session

This session took place on the beach at Oak Island on a cool December evening. Mom had contacted me wanting updated photos of her kids- 8 year old McKenzie and 15 year old Kyle. These kids were awesome and I enjoyed getting to know them and their personalities! McKenzie loved the camera and was having a ton of fun, while Kyle was totally not impressed with taking pictures. I mean, what 15 year old guy doesn't love photo sessions?! He was a pretty good sport, though!

We took some shots of McKenzie and Kyle each separate and then a few of them together. I love this location under the pier and with the beginnings of a sunset, it was perfect. 

Charlie- One year old session

One of my loveliest friends, Beth, has a niece who was born the same day as my son, just one year later. After hearing Beth gush about baby Charlie, I knew I had to meet this little girl! Beth asked me to do some photos for Charlie's first birthday and I happily obliged. Charlie's mom, Lydia, by the way, is also such a sweetheart (must run in the family!). We met at a nearby park and Charlie toddled around examining her surroundings and being genuinely adorable. This age is one of my favorites because they are so curious and fun! I love chasing these babies around, hoping to preserve a few moments of childhood innocence and wonder.

After a quick outfit change, we moved to a different area of the park. Charlie loved walking around and checking out the water underneath us. We also got some shots of Charlie with her mommy. I love capturing mamas with their little ones, because I know many times, we're behind the camera! It's so important to catch some mommy and baby moments, especially because they grow so fast. I'm very honored to be able to provide Lydia with these images to remember beautiful one year old Charlie!
